Home of Mahatma Gandhi. This place is itself known for the meeting and gathering of the Indian leaders to independent India from British rule. Gandhi ashram is situated on the bank of river sabarmati and therefore it is also known as sabarmati ashram.

The place is very quite and peaceful. So many political leaders from India as well as from other countries have visited the ashram. In this ashram, things are kept which was used by gandhiji during his life.


Statue of three monkeys represent the philosophy of gandhiji - "Bura Na Bolo, Bura Na Dekho aur Bura Na Suno.." meaning don't speak lie, don't see lie and don't listen lie.



Ashram is very beautiful and its structure is similar to village homes of India. It is surrounded by plants and trees. The place is very natural. In this ashram, we can found about the life and struggle of M.K. Gandhi. He was born on 2nd october, 1869, at Porbandar. To praise his work India celebrate every 2nd October, his birthday as "Mahatma Gandhi Janma Jyanti".
